IEEE Sarawak Subsection is organising their first robotics competition to be held on 24th November 2018. Forty students from various secondary schools across Kuching will be participating in the competition. The competition aims to promote the interest in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) in schools as well as to introduce the use of technology such as computer and programming skills.
As part of the competition, the participants are provided with introductory training to robotics and programming in a one-day boot camp held on 18th August and 1st September for the Junior and Senior category respectively. The training was conducted by Dr. Hudyjaya Siswoyo Jo, Senior Lecturer in Robotics & Mechatronics from Swinburne University of Technology Sarawak Campus assisted by IEEE student members from IEEE Swinburne Sarawak Student Branch.
With the knowledge and skills gained from the training, the participants will be perfecting their strategy and technique to get ready for the competition in November.
