Nearly 120 students from 15 different secondary schools in Kuching have participated in the Robotics and Hardware Programming Workshop organized by IEEE Sarawak and School of Engineering of Swinburne University of Technology Sarawak Campus. The workshop took place on 11 to 19 June 2018 in Swinburne University’s campus.
The three-session workshop aimed to deliver hands-on learning experience in basic robot building and hardware programming. Each session spanned three hours. Throughout the workshop, the participants learned about the working principles of simple robotics and mechatronics systems as well as the practical skills in prototyping electronic circuits and microcontroller programming.
In addition to providing the learning-by-doing experience, the workshop intended to develop early interests in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) fields.
