Member of IEEE Malaysia Sarawak being Selected as IEEE STEM Ambassador

IEEE recognizes the need for students to develop their capabilities in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) education to succeed in this new information-based and highly technological society and to pursue STEM-related careers. IEEE, through, is committed to raising interest and awareness in engineering, computing, and technology and strives to help students discover the engineer within them.

TryEngineering is an initiative from IEEE, the world’s largest technical professional organization for the advancement of technology. TryEngineering aims to empower educators to foster the next generation of technology innovators. We provide educators and students with resources, lesson plans, and activities that engage and inspire.

The global IEEE STEM Ambassador Program was developed to recognize IEEE volunteers for their contributions to pre-university STEM education. The Program resides under and works in partnership with the Volunteer STEM Portal. We wish to congratulate our IEEE Sarawak member, Dr Lau Bee Theng, who is also an academic member of the Faculty of Engineering, Computing and Science at the Swinburne University of Technology Sarawak, for being selected as the IEEE STEM Ambassador. We wish her all the best in her continual efforts in promoting STEM education at the state, national and international levels.
