KUCHING: The IEEE Sarawak Subsection and Swinburne Sarawak IEEE Student Branch recently organized a two-days study trip to few remote villages in Bau and Sematan to find suitable locations for implementation of the second phase of the alternative lighting project, which was implemented last year at Kampung Pulau Salak.
The team visited Kampung Buso and Kampung Temaga Melayu with permission from Penghulu Liew. “From our visit, we observe that most of the villagers in those areas were well-developed with sufficient supply of water and electricity. We are still searching for the most suitable sites. Therefore, we would open for suggestions on suitable sites in order for us to finalize the site for 2nd phase implementation by mid of June.” Said the team lead, Dr. Then Yi Lung.

Dr. Then added general public and all community are welcome to drop an email to him (ythen@swinburne.edu.my)or Dr. Tay (fstay@swinburne.edu.my) for further information, inquiry or suggestion regarding this project.
